First Aid at Work Requalification (RFAW) (12 hours)

This 12-hour course is an HSE requirement for all current First Aiders whose FAW certificate is due to expire. The course enables learners to update their First Aid skills and qualify for a further 3 years.

Please Note: If your FAW certificate has already expired then you must attend the 18 hour First Aid at Work course.

  • The unconscious casualty
  • Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Choking
  • Bleeding
  • Chest injuries
  • Injuries to bones including suspected spinal injuries
  • Soft tissue injuries
  • Burns and scalds
  • Head and eye injuries
  • Seizures
  • Poisoning and anaphylactic shock

Suitable for: current holders of a valid but soon to expire FAW certificate that works within a company with 50+ employees and high-risk organisations such as food processing, warehousing, working with chemicals, working with heights, extensive work with machinery, light engineering and assembly work.

Assessment

In addition to ongoing assessment as part of the course, learners will be required to complete a final two part-assessment. On completion of the course, all learners will be given a nationally recognised RFAW certificate, which is valid for 3 years.
