First Aid at Work (FAW) (18 hours)

This HSE compliant course is for organisations with more than 50 employees and for high-risk environments. The course teaches all learners about the role of first aid within the workplace, the equipment required, how to accurately record incidents and accident and how to respond to a wide range of common minor and major accidents and emergencies in the workplace.

  • The unconscious casualty
  • Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Choking
  • Bleeding
  • Use of a Defibrillator
  • Chest injuries
  • Injuries to bones including suspected spinal injuries
  • Soft tissue injuries
  • Burns and scalds
  • Head and eye injuries
  • Seizures
  • Poisoning and anaphylactic shock

Suitable for: companies with 50+ employees; high-risk organisations such as food processing, warehousing, working with chemicals, working with heights, extensive work with machinery, light engineering and assembly work.

Assessment

In addition to ongoing assessment as part of the course, learners will be required to complete a final two part-assessment. On completion of the course, all learners will be given a nationally recognised FAW certificate, which is valid for 3 years.

Duration: 18 hours

Cost: £140 p/p (10% discount available for groups of 8 and above).

Venue: We can run the course from your workplace , a community space or from our base in Hertfordshire
