With 1 in 4 people experiencing a mental health episode each year, an understanding of mental health and the ability to recognise the early warning signs is essential for any organisation.

Our 3 hour Basic Introduction to Mental Health Awareness course is designed to help employers promote greater mental wellbeing in their workforce. By building an awareness and understanding of what mental well beingis, this specially designed course teaches learners to recognise the early warning signs of common mental health conditions.

In addition we will provide you with the tools and techniques to promote a supportive working environment, where positive conversations about mental health can be had, without the risk of stigma and where all employees are encouraged and supported to manage their own mental wellbeing.

Suitable for: individuals and organisations wanting to understand more about mental health and mental distress, common mental health conditions and the support options available.

  • What is Mental Health and why is it important?
  • How does mental ill health affect an organisation?
  • Common vs severe mental health conditions
  • Overview of common mental health conditions (including signs and symptoms, causes and treatment)
  • How to build a supportive environment

Assessment

All successful learners will be given a certificate and hand-outs.

Duration: 3 hours

Cost: £295 (max 8 people).

Venue: We can run the course from your workplace, a community space or from our base in Hertfordshire.
